Frederick Weekes Diary
Frederick’s diary will be appearing later this year under the joint editorship of Ian Nelson and Anthony Bower.
Along with other valuable material this diary was kindly donated to the new Hurstpierpoint Museum by one of our members Astrid Bucknall. It was written between 1837 and 1852 and describes the life of a Hurstpierpoint gentleman farmer. He was a cousin of the Reverend Carey Borrer upon whose diary we are also working, a grandson of Richard Weekes and brother of George Weekes. The diaries of the latter two appeared recently in our publication “The Weekes Diaries”.
It should be of great interest to genealogists as it is packed with references to local Sussex people. For this reason we shall also be producing a CD version of the text.
We are not taking orders yet but will post information here nearer the publishing date.
